Sanctuary: A Tree House
Above the Shenandoah River

For those who like a one of a kind experience, come to this primitive Sanctuary on our beachfront nestled 20 feet above the river. The screened 10 by 11 foot bedroom/ sitting room has a double-sized bed beneath the skylight. Enjoy the rooftop deck with incredible views. Swim or canoe in the moonlight in the river.

We provide a gallon of bottled water with access to refill and firewood. Bring candles and flashlights. Firepit or small hibachi cooking on the beachfront (bring charcoal). Bathroom facilities onsite are primitive. Guests may use hot showers and bathroom at the base camp. Block ice upon advance request with provided cooler. Private parking is at the tree house during dry or light rain conditions.

Canoe and tubes are available for Sanctuary guests when weather conditions permit; security deposit required. Ask when you book. We have private trails leading to logging trails in the National Forest for riding and hiking. Country Place guests enjoy special discounts for the Luray Caverns and massage therapy.

Fees below are for two people. Additional guests can pitch a tent in the private camping area of the tree house on the river.

Two night minimum rental for 1 or 2 guests: $175
additional nights $60
Six night rental: $400

Additional Camping Fees:
$40/ night for each tent (includes two campers)
Additional camper in the tent is $15/night.
No charge for up to 3 children 6 and under staying in tents.
Tree House season: April through early October.
