Misty River Retreat

Misty River is a 3-bedroom rustic river retreat. Located at the bend of the Shenandoah River, the house has a beautiful two-mile view both up and down river, and of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The glass-walled master bedroom has a private half bath and deck. The house has 2 fireplaces (one in the screened in river front porch along with the hot tub). Misty River has Direct TV with premium movie and sports channels, major networks - YES, sports fans!), DVD/VCR (bring your own or rent in town), local phone service, air conditioning, electric heat, microwave and dishwasher, firewood, 2 person shower size. The house sleeps 6 in three queen size beds and has a sleep sofa in the living room. Linens for up to two beds are part of the rental.

Misty River is a nonsmoking cabin; we ask guests to smoke on the screened in porch.

Our guests may have the free use of a canoe, tubes and two bicycles on the property. The Country Place has a partnership package with the Luray Caverns. With rental, come special discounts for massage therapy. We have private trails leading to logging trails in the National Forest for riding and hiking. Misty River is a short walk to the entrance to Habron Gap Trail leading to the top of Massanutten Mountain in the George Washington National Forest.

Misty River is available year-round. See also the Captain's Lodge on the Rapids, the Aerie Mountain Hideaway Cabin, the Mountain Log Cabin, the Sanctuary Tree House, and The Country Place Camp. Two-night minimum stay requested. Three-night minimum stay requested on holiday weekends (four days Thanksgiving). Check in after 3 PM; check out at 11 AM. We will leave the lights on for you when you are arriving after dark.
                    

There are charges for extra people. Through June 6, we will offer midweek specials of three nights for two nights in season prices.
(Sundays through Thursday nights, holidays excepted).
